Sydney Metro - Game Changer

Sydney Metro - Game Changer

The North West section of the new Sydney Metro rail line opened this weekend to great enthusiasm. Free travel all day Sunday gave curious locals the chance to try out the new trains and stations before the new commute started on Monday.  Running from Tallawong and Rouse Hill through to Chatswood, up to 12 driverless trains an hour will run during peak times.

The new line brings the employment centres of Chatswood, Ryde and Macquarie Park within an easy 30 min max commute of the fast-growing North West Sydney population centres and on to the CDB in under an hour. This will reduce further once the Chatswood to Bankstown via CBD section opens in 2024.

Adam Sheumack, Director at Rook Salinger commented, “The new line has been eagerly anticipated by business. We have seen a marked increase in interest for established retail destinations such as Chatswood Interchange and Kellyville Village, and a very enthusiastic reaction to our recently launched Lachlan's Square project at North Ryde, which is currently leasing and due to open later this year. It will also have a significant positive impact on upcoming projects at Epping and Box Hill.

Businesses appreciate what the new infrastructure will mean for the local areas. The population of North West Sydney is forecast to grow significantly over the coming decades and that drives demand for retail and commercial space."
