Rook Salinger was engaged by Virgin Active to identify and secure suitable space for a new Virgin Active fitness centre in the northern end of Sydney’s CBD.
Given the very specific property requirements set out by Virgin, an extensive off-market search process was undertaken. This identified a number of sites for consideration by Virgin management which was narrowed down to levels 6 and 7 at 60 Margaret Street. This high-profile building on the corner of George Street is adjacent to Wynyard Station and Virgin have entered into a 10 year lease for 2,460sqm of podium space with direct access to street level.
The new high-end fitness and wellness centre will spread across two floors above the popular retail hub of the Met Centre, providing a highly visible and easily accessible location along the route of the new light rail line.
Rook Salinger director David Black who worked on the deal over a number of years, congratulated building owner and manager Mirvac on signing Virgin stating, “This is an ideal use of the space that will be a valuable benefit to businesses in the 36 level tower and to neighbouring CBD properties.”
